Honor 8x Features and specification

The honor series has been putting impressive devices with unique designs and technology that will grab your attention, a few days ago honor held an event in Dubai to launch their new Smartphone in the x series and also honor first phone with the HiSilicon Kirin 710 chip.

Here is the new honor 8x, the company newest midrange phone, 8x boasts some superior numbers over other phones but it doesn’t come with the odd design, the price of the phone is 36000.

The most unique aspect of honor 8x that make its different from the other competitive is its design. On the back and the front you have glass and metals at the side makes the honor 8x a little heavier but all fo this makes the phone premium.

The glass on the back of the phone is not plain, as we are talking about honor so we know they definitely have a crazy theme going around, and they do. The design on the back is amazing, there is a dual tone theme going around where one side of the 8x is reflective whereas the other side  has a nice matte-ish finish.

Moving towards the display, it’s a massive 6.5 inch IPS LCD panel which has the resolution of 1080 × 2340 pixels. This makes the pixels density fall below the 400 PPI mark. In the real world you won t be able to tell the difference.

Beside that the screen is beautiful to look at, not only that its large, but the minimum bezel on the side makes it much easier to use, the chin on the bottom is also not that much pronounced, but you will find a notch at the screen.

Talking about the performance, so lets remove the numbers first, the honor 8x uses HiSilicon Kirin 710 Octa core chipset and has the RAM of 4GB. It is been said that the honor 8x is the first phone from honor to feature Kirin 710 chipset.

The applications open up quite fat without hanging, as it happens in mid range Smartphone cases.

As the 4 GB ram helps you to move between 2 or more apps, without having each app to refresh itself every time you open it up. You do have to deal with the refreshing part when you are working on 8 to 10 apps, 4 GB is more than enough but the 6 GB option would be best.

128 GB version is also available in 8x and if that’s also not enough then microSD card slot is also available for the expansion.

On the back of the phone is a dual camera setup, where one of the lens is 20mp sensor with f/1.8 aperture whereas the other is a 2mp depth lens. On the front of the phone you will have a 16 mp sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

The picture quality is really good, there is a lot f details, good contrast and the colors are also not over saturated. The camera held up good in good light conditions, and same like the mid range phones 8x also falls apart in low light condition.

The portrait mode in the front camera is a hit or a miss as well with the bokeh effect sometimes covering the whole face and edge detection wasn t great, this is an issue which honor can fix with the software update.

The phone has a battery of 3750 mAh, which is quite large battery, when we compare it to other phones of mid range, the battery performed well, lasting a full day, data on, while taking pictures, taking calls, checking social media.

If the battery falls below the critical percentage yu can turn on the ultra power saving mode to get a few extra hours out of the battery.

As it doesn‘t come with fast charging, so you are left with a phone that will take 3 hours to completely charge its battery from 0%.

Honor 8x is really an impressive device, its very rear that device from honor surprise me but it really did.

The display fo t he phone is amazing, the performance is really good the software is amazing, there are also some downsides like the microSD card slot when the whole world is moving toward USB type C. hope that the new x series phone might comes with the USB type C.  it also don t have the  feature of fast charging then it will be problem for you if you aren‘t used to slow charging.

Beside all this, there is not much to hate 8x as it nails the basics of the mi range phones, going ahead to provide excellence experience.
