OnePlus merged its research and development arm with Oppo in January this year, but said its software will not be changed and will remain same. That will soon change as OnePlus announces the full integration of its smartphone brand with Oppo.

OnePlus has now decided to be a part of Oppo and will work as a brand under OPPO but will retain its independence. The announcement was made by the company’s CEOPete Lau, who said the merger would open up more resources for the company to help develop better products.

He added that this will enable faster and more efficient software updates for OnePlus users as well.
